Berenice Olmedo (*1987) often focuses on the most rejected and vulnerable in society—whether stray dogs or physically impaired humans. Extending this concern, in one of her first European solo exhibitions, the Mexican artist conceives a new project that generates form from investigations into various technological enhancements of the body.
The exhibition is made possible through the generous support of the LUMA Foundation; the Burger Collection, Hong Kong (inspired by the spirit of TOY); the Isaac Dreyfus-Bernheim Foundation, and LEAP (kindly supported by Constantin Schwaab); with additional support from Lafayette Anticipations – Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette, Paris; the Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso para el Arte, Catherine Petitgas, and the Südkulturfonds. The exhibition opening is catered thanks to the in-kind support of Cartell.
You can find more information about the exhibition, running from June 10 to September 18, 2022, here: https://www.kunsthallebasel.ch/en/exh…
