Catherine Opie in conversation with Jasper Sharp about her body of work

As part of the series Modern and Contemporary Talks, in 2018 the Kunsthistorisches Museum has invited four contemporary artists whose works are part of the exhibition »The Shape of Time« (March 6 to July 8, 2018). The guest in March was the American artist Catherine Opie.

Catherine Opie was born in Ohio in 1961. Her photographic oeuvre comprises studio portraits, landscapes and urban spaces. She is best known for her provocative portraits in which she questions concepts of social, sexual and cultural identity. Since 2001 she is Professor of Photography at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
