Lowry denkt über die vielen Gespräche nach, die er im Laufe der Jahre mit Serra geführt hat, und über die zeitlose Natur von „Equal“.
„Er war ein brillanter Bildhauer, aber er war auch ein sehr engagierter politischer Aktivist und Vordenker. Wenn ich auf ‚Equal‘ zurückkomme, betrachte ich es als eine Art Katalysator für eine Meditation darüber, wer wir sind, wo wir sind und warum wir auf diesem Planeten sind.“

“He was a brilliant sculptor, but he was also a really deeply committed political activist and thought leader. Coming back to ‘Equal,’ I think of it as a catalyst for a kind of meditation on who we are, where we are, and why we are on this planet.”
