In this session of the Science Communication Café, host Franziska Sattler is talking to Dr. Eliana Buenaventura, a scientist who is working at the Center for Integrative Biodiversity Discovery at #mfnberlin.
Her #research focuses on flies, especially on the group of Oestroidea. As a biologist, she is interested in the diversification and the #evolution of flies. Her primary goals are their relevance in our ecosystem. She deals with questions like: how many fly species are there on earth, where can fly diversity be found, how do these forms of life relate to one another and can this #biodiversity be modeled to make predictions about it?
Every first Sunday of the month, the Science Communication Café takes place where you get exciting insights from scientists into their work while drinking coffee in a relaxed atmosphere – online or in the museum.
In the Experimental Field for Participation and Open Science, the #mfnberlin is testing various formats of research communication as well as new participatory approaches. As a space for direct interaction between science and citizens, we intend to open science to the public.
